Aquatic herbs, up to 2 m long, apex reaching the water surface. Leaves papery, shiny, semitranslucent green.Peduncle pale green. Tepals dirty green. Ovary pale creamy yellow, styles reddish. Fruits creamy, flattened ovoid, c. 4 x 2½ x 1½ mm.
